“The State” Comedy Album Finally Getting a Release Date 14 Years After it Was Recorded

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

In the past year, we were treated to the long-awaited release of the complete series of “The State” on DVD. Longtime fans like myself practically shit themselves with joy. Now, the comedy troupe that featured members who would go on to star in “Reno 911,” “Stella,” “Party Down,” Klondike bar commercials, “Viva Variety,” Role Models, Superbad, and inexplicably write the screenplays for both Night at the Museum films (I’m not kidding, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant were responsible for that shit) is releasing a comedy album — 14 years after it was recorded, in 1996.

Comedy For Gracious Living will be available on September 21 via Rhino Records, and is available for pre-order. The entire tracklist is below, as well as a sample video — for those who may be shamefully unaware of their brilliance — from their eponymous early-’90s show on MTV.
