The Pixies
As reported by the Guardian, drummer David Lovering and guitarist Joey Santiago indicated in a recent interview with Spinner that The Pixies are set to record new material after their current tour is completed.

“It’ll be time,” said Santiago. “That talk about making a record will be in the forefront … We’ve definitely gelled as a unit and hopefully when we can all bury the hatchet — and we have — maybe we’ll go in there and hope for the best.”

Santiago also acknowledged that friction still exists within the band, and Lovering added, “We want to protect the legacy. If we do something, it better be good. And as we go along — it’s been seven years now — it gets more difficult to make that decision,” indicating that a new record is not a guarantee.

The Pixies will be wrapping up their Doolittle tour this week in Canada.
