Remember 1988’s wildly popular comedy The Naked Gun, which spawned an entire franchise? Well, it’s making a comeback. Ed Helms, who you may remember from The Hangover films, has been tapped to play Detective Frank Drebin, originally portrayed by the late Leslie Nielsen.

Paramount has hired Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant — best known for writing the Night at the Museum movies and starring in “Reno 911” and “The State” — to write the screenplay.

No anticipated release date has been announced.
