Miami’s Jacuzzi Boys absolutely back this credibility, having played a high energy and riveting show recently in Austin with King Tuff and Wavves.

During the Official 2013 ACL Music Festival Late Night Shows, the near-capacity crowd gathered for a full night of rock and roll. From the moment that guitarist and singer Gabriel Alcala ripped into the opening chords of the band’s 40-minute set, everyone knew the party was officially on for the next four hours. Welcome to ACL Fest, Weekend Two.

Afterwards, the band had a few moments to catch up with Verbicide contributor Jessica Alexander for a quick interview and photo.

Jacuzzi Boys…I am guessing you guys like swimming or hot tubs.

Don’t think too much about it! It’s totally off the cuff, and honestly we thought all the good band names were already taken. We were thinking “Gang in New York from the 1970s.” Something like that.

We heard that Iggy Pop came to one of your shows. He is definitely great company to keep!

He is one of the sweetest and most legit guys we know. He said we have a stupid band name but a good spirit, and that is totally cool with us. Also, he has a cool house and let us stay over as long as we wanted. Pretty cool for three guys that make garage rock music…just hanging out with our idol and musical inspiration shooting the shit.

Jacuzzi Boys next EP is scheduled for a mid-2014 release.
