This band is releasing an album recorded in Baltimore; an album they call Birds — occasionally swaying, sometimes flapping wings, and sometimes just gliding along. The songs have a flavor I can compare to a louder and more powerful Karate. This band works best when it builds upon its melodies rather than lets them travel on. The songs that do this the best are actually instrumentals, one of which is the title track, which starts off simple and soon gets hoppin’. The album ends with a pretty acoustic guitar and piano number reminiscent of cold Sundays.
