Unreleased Number OneOriginally published in Verbicide issue #6

I took a road trip sometime in the fall of ’97 to see Local H, one of my favorite bands at the time. A band called Triple Fast Action opened up for them and completely blew me away.  Five years later and I still answer “Triple Fast Action” when someone asks, “Who is the best band you’ve ever seen live?”

Anyway, TFA were signed to Deep Elm Records. I bought this compilation called What’s Mine Is Yours: The Emo Diaries simply because a new TFA song was on it. I’m glad I bought that comp, because I was introduced to a lot of great bands. Years later and I get another Deep Elm comp with a new TFA song on it. My opinion is still the same: Deep Elm has a lot of amazing and talented bands. This comp is different from the Emo Diaries series though, as all of the songs are unreleased. The first song, “Blinders” by Planes Mistaken for Stars, is great, and of course the TFA song rocks. Track 3, “Last Train Out” by Red Animal War is really good. Get this and listen to it the whole way through!
