The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences hosted a special screening this week of the classic 1992 comedy Wayne’s World which was followed by a discussion panel with its cast and creators.
Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reunited with costar Rob Lowe, executive producer Lorne Michaels and director Penelope Spheeris to share stories from set and talk about the sketch-turned-movie’s legacy. Though they did not take part in the panel, Lara Flynn Boyle and Tia Carrere also appeared at the event.
The Academy provided a nine-minute video with a compilation of clips from the panel, which you can watch below. (via Paste)
During the panel, Myers mentioned that Wayne’s World did not actually originate on “Saturday Night Live,” but actually on the 1987 Canadian variety show “It’s Only Rock & Roll” during a sketch called “Wayne’s Power Minute.” You can watch that sketch following the video from the Academy.
