The Wicked Tomorrow – Frenemy

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Formed during the winter of 2009/’10 by Ian Jacobs (guitar/vocals) and Michelle Feliciano (drums/vocals), The Wicked Tomorrow bloomed out of spontaneity and a mutual driven necessity. Jacobs and Feliciano navigated their way together through the New York City music scene over the past four years, spending countless days and nights together collaborating in bands while listening, writing, drinking, exploring, and drawing inspiration from the abundance of the city. As other musical projects began to fade out, the two eventually wanted to focus on creating something that was all their own, and so The Wicked Tomorrow was born.

From the first practice the duo had their vocals in place, creating the magnetic force that sparked the band’s direction. But it wasn’t until Feliciano sat down at the drum kit and Jacobs created a multi-tiered wall of guitar tones that The Wicked Tomorrow’s sound was complete. The results incorporate the raw natures of rock and roll and merge it with a sharp razor’s edge, capped by the duo’s aggressive vocal style and two-part harmonies. The sounds often alludes to influences such as BRMC, Band of Skulls, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Equally as important as the sound itself is the band’s energy and adoration that is apparent through each element of their material.
