In the vein of the Ramones and The Clash comes The Visitors, a melodic punk band out of Dallas, Texas. Led by Benjie Bollox, a former member of the UK Subs, The Visitors have a darker version of the ’70s punk, with some rockabilly and reggae thrown in for good measure. The lyrics are pretty intense, starting of with a snide attack on female vanity. The best part of this album, unreleased as of yet, is the music. The British
accent is kind of neat, but the album needs some better mixing. Still, I’d recommend checking them out. There’s a lot of punk rock experience in this band, so I’m willing to bet they put on a good show. As far as underground punk records goes, there are some real gems on here, and if you’re in Texas anytime soon, you’ll find the Visitors playing somewhere.
