Drawing cineastes and gourmets alike to Goose Island, the third annual Chicago Food Film Festival combines the visual stimulation of film with the physical pleasures of feast to create an event that allows festival goers to “taste what you see on the screen,” as the festival’s website puts it.

Founded by documentarian George Motz and Harry Hawk, the competitive film festival, which gives awards for Best Short, Best Feature, and Best Food Porn, among other categories, has a Chicago lineup that includes pieces on Milwaukee Friday night fish fries and whiskey, both of which no self respecting Midwesterner would ever want to be without.
