Okay, I gotta know, are Strikedown Records or Facefirst Records (whatever they’re calling themselves) just trying to sign every single Christian band they can, regardless of talent? Are they building an army to fight the Devil or something? This band is (choose from the following list: weak, abominable, sad, pathetic, talentless, bad, awful…). If hardcore is supposed to be the last bastion of truth and honesty in music, then shame on this label for signing this act. This isn’t some screamo band posing as hardcore kids — I think they might actually want to be a punk or Oi! band, but this is like listening to some idiots who got to play the instruments while the real band took a beer break. On their press sheet, they make all kinds of bold statements about taking hardcore back to its roots, pushing boundaries, etc. The most atrocious statement that they make is that they think that songwriting and content are their strong points! The only thing that they got right was that the disc is “unapologetic chaos.” It’s something, all right. This is garbage, even at the $9.98 they sell it for. As a kid, I used to think “all beef” hotdogs meant “all meat” hotdogs. Now that I am an adult, I know that “all beef” means that there are still lips and assholes in the hotdogs — they just all come from the same animal. I sincerely hope that’s not becoming the case at the Strikedown/Facefirst feedlot.
