THE HEART ATTACKS – Hellbound and Heartless

reviewed by Ryan Brosmer | Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

heartattacks_hellboundandheartlessThe first thing that needs to be said about this CD is that it was produced by Lars Frederiksen from Rancid. That should basically say everything that needs to be said. But if not, then know that this CD is classic street-punk. Driven by blaring guitars and heavy bass riffs, The Heart Attacks produce a nice revival of fast, balls-out punk rock. This album will be a welcome blast from the past for anyone who grew up on punk rock and just as annoying to anyone who grew up hating such noise pollution. Their punk cred might suffer from having songs that cross the four-minute mark, but for anyone who ever had a taste for Rancid or even The Clash, The Heart Attacks won’t disappoint.
