Straight-forward guitars and drums, but it wouldn’t do to call the music stylings simplistic. Too polished to be dirty street punk, and too ragged to be pop-punk, The Break are just who they are, which is good enough to put together a rather decent debut album.

Nothing is new here, except for a sincerity that can be missing when the scene takes over. Hardcore believers in definitive punk rock will dismiss this as watered down and collegiate, but I can give a lot of credit to a band that does their thing — especially when they do it well. Expect bigger and better things from this group with experience, but for now, grab this one.
