Novoselic, McCartney, Smear

As you surely heard, the surviving members of Nirvana got together to play with Paul McCartney last night at the 12.12.12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert. With Dave Grohl on drums, Krist Novoselic on bass, Pat Smear on guitar, and McCartney on a cigar box, the quartet played a song entitled “Cut Me Some Slack.” Video is below.

After the show, Grohl sent out a tweet explaining that it is the first song from the forthcoming film Sound City.

While it’s popular belief that the surviving Nirvana members have not performed together in many, many years, they actually jammed together onstage at a Foo Fighters show only two years ago, and all performed on the latest Foo Fighters album. It is, however, their first time performing together on TV or to such a large crowd in more than 18 years.
