Sunny Day Real Estate Postponing UK Trip to Mystery Date

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

After wreaking havoc on Coachella and other transcontinental engagements in the entertainment industry, the volcanic eruption in Iceland has caused Seattle-ites Sunny Day Real Estate to become the latest to cancel an overseas trip. Their first-ever UK gig, originally due to take place April 22 at London’s Forum, has been postponed to May.

The band had this to say:

“Yet again Sunny Day Real Estate is compelled to postpone a trip to Europe. Ordinarily this would be due to a failure of initiative on our part; we’ve corrected this shortcoming, only to have an explosive act of god intervene this time. Thankfully we’ve been able to reschedule quickly and we look forward to playing the UK in May.”

Various media sources have reported different dates for the rescheduled concert: some are reporting May 3rd, others stating May 30th, yet others claiming May 31st as the new date. I’m not going to report anything, but if you want my advice, continue to check Sub Pop’s tour page, which as of yet has not been updated.
