Sadly, on March 16, 2013, 39-year-old Jason Molina died in Indianapolis as a result of alcohol abuse-related organ failure. In addition to his solo work, Molina recorded as Songs: Ohia, and also led the band Magnolia Electric Co.

Now, a huge 39-track benefit compilation album entitled Songs: Molina has been released in memory of Molina. A $10 donation gets all 39 songs, and all the money collected goes straight to Jason’s loved ones to help out with expenses. It was organized by Steven Vineis.
