SLC Punk! 2: Punk's Dead

The sequel to James Merendino’s SLC Punk! is coming later in 2014. SLC Punk! 2: Punk’s Dead is expected to see a release in November of 2014, and now the principal cast has been announced.

First, this is who may not be returning — though nothing is confirmed officially. It appears as though the lead from the original film, Matthew Lillard, who played Stevo, is not taking part — Matthew himself tweeted last October that he and SLC Punk! 2 are “not a thing.” This could mean then that the characters played by Christopher McDonald (Stevo’s father) and Summer Phoenix (Brandy, Stevo’s girlfriend) are also being axed. No mention has been made of Til Schweiger’s (Mark) involvement, and Annabeth Gish’s character, Trish, has been recast with Sarah Clarke (“24″/Twilight).

As previously reported, Jason Segel will not be returning to reprise his role as Mike.

However, a significant amount of the cast of SLC Punk! will be returning. Devon Sawa (Sean), Adam Pascal (Eddie), and James Duval (John the Mod) are all returning, as is Michael Goorjian, who is somehow going to bring back his character, Heroin Bob. The producers are also promising “two surprise cameos,” likely from the old cast, which have not yet been revealed.

New leads have been announced as well. In addition to Clarke as Trish, Ben Schnetzer (The Book Thief/Warcraft) will play Ross, Heroin Bob’s Son, while Machine Gun Kelly will play Crash, and Hannah Marks (The Runaways/The Amazing Spiderman) will portray a character named Penny.
