Electronic musician Skrillex has confirmed that he will be providing an original score (collaborating with Cliff Martinez) for Harmony Korine’s pending feature film Spring Breakers, starring James Franco. The film will be screened internationally upon it’s release in 2013.

“I think this film is going to turn a lot of heads in many ways,” says Skrillex. “It was a lot of fun to work with Harmony because he gave me the freedom and trust to do whatever I wanted. It was also super awesome having Cliff Martinez involved too…Scoring to film is definitely a different approach to music making in the sense that it’s not so much about how the music sounds by itself as it is finding ways to compliment the vibe of the film.”
Spring Breakers, currently being edited in Los Angeles and starring James Franco, Gucci Mane, Selena Gomez, VanessaHudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine, tells the story of Brit, Candy, Cotty, and Faith, four college students who live in a dorm and crave adventure. After setting off on a road trip, an encounter with white rapper “Alien” (Franco) promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience their spring break adventure.
