Philip K. Dick's "The Crystal Crypt"

A mixed live action/animation film adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s The Crystal Crypt is now underway by director Shahab Zargari. The film will star Yuri Lowenthal (“Ben 10,” “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns”) and Tara Platt (“Naruto,” Final Fantasy video games), and will feature songs from Dischord Records band The Aquarium, plus an original score from Frodus frontman Shelby Cinca. Cosplay icon Jean Gomez will also star in a supporting role.

Legendary science fiction author Philip K. Dick is best known for penning novels such as A Scanner Darkly and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (the basis of the film Blade Runner). The film Total Recall is based on Dick’s short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.” Writer Shahram Zargari adapted Dick’s “The Crystal Crypt” for the screen.

Presently, the filmmakers are seeking assistance to cover approximately half of the film’s production costs. You can chip in as little as $1 to help them out! To find out more about the project and/or to contribute, visit the Indiegogo page.
