Dmitri Medvedev, bass player for DC/Baltimore hardcore band Iron Cross, has died at the age of 36. Iron Cross frontman Sab Grey says Medvedev was killed in a motorcycle accident in Gore, Virginia, on Wednesday, September 19, 2012.

His fiancée Cassi is being treated for injuries at Winchester Medical Center.

According to the Virginia State Police, Medvedev was riding his motorcycle east on Route 50 when a Subaru Forester turning left from the westbound lanes pulled into his path. Medvedev and his fiancée were thrown from the motorcycle, according to police.

The Subaru’s driver, a 74-year-old man from Gore, was not injured, police said. He was charged with reckless driving. (via Washington City Paper, Washington Post)
