The first thing that comes to mind when listening to this CD is how much it’s like Projekt Records‘ Lycia. Dark male and female alternating lyrics rise from the layers of synth, bass, and drums. Track five, “Sooop Toe Pump Girls,” has qualities of modern noise acts, as track six “Gently Jeanrah” reminds me of Black Tape For a Blue Girl. I hate to keep comparing them to such amazing goth bands, but this 12 track CD is dark, brooding, and beautiful. Track eight, “Homofuge,” has essences of New York Dolls, northern soul, and ambient goth.

Watch out for them on tour this fall, and they’ll be touring Japan in spring of 2002, which I’m sure will open their ethereal sound with open arms. Definitely recommended to those with a refined taste for the grim.
