How to Clean Everything is personally my favorite album by Propagandhi. I remember listening to “Anti-Manifesto” as a high school kid and thinking, Wow, these guys don’t beat around the bush — they just say what they think, and they don’t give two shits if you disagree.
Chris Hannah’s lyrics are snarling, politically-charged, and, at times, cynical. He isn’t afraid to give a middle-finger response to anything that might piss him off. Nothing is sacred in the eyes of Hannah — even the love songs on this album aren’t without his malicious sense of humor. Over the years, Propagandhi’s style has changed, but How to Clean Everything put Propagandhi on the punk rock map — and who wouldn’t be excited to hear it all over again, now that it has been remastered, with three extra tracks that were cut from the original release, as well as a four-track live demo at the end? And I’ve read that the “20th Anniversary Edition” package includes guitar and bass tabs for every song. Now that’s a deal!
