Jammi York was in attendance at a protest outside of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s house on January 8th and shared pictures with Verbicide. The protest was organized by journalists in an attempt to shed light on the NYPD’s arrests of journalists, and the city’s efforts to silence the media’s coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protests.

York said, “[Bloomberg] blocked off the whole street (79th between 5th & Madison Ave.) and used the police as his own private security. The police wouldn’t even look at us in the eyes when asked why we couldn’t walk down a public street…they looked at the damn ground and shrugged their shoulders like children.”
