Pee-wee's Playhouse

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Paul Reubens — aka “Pee-wee Herman” — discussed a revival of his beloved ’80s television show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse.”

Reubens, 60, stated that there’s a new Pee-wee TV show on tap, “potentially though not necessarily an update on ‘Pee-wee’s Playhouse.'” Reubens wouldn’t provide details about the new Pee-wee program, but said an announcement is “imminent” about the show, which will air in 2014.

“Short of something unforeseen like the studio going out of business, I think it’s very likely both these projects will happen next year,” Reubens told the LA Times of the show and of the long-awaited third Pee-wee movie, which Judd Apatow signed on to produce three years ago. Reubens said he believes that the script is ready and financing has come together. The film, which also now also has a director, will likely shoot next year. (via HuffPo)

Regarding the Pee-wee revival, Reubens stated, “It feels great. I woke up one day and said, ‘It’s time.’ This is what I want to do next.”
