In 1992, Nirvana’s Nevermind went number one — bumping Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” off the album charts. They were anti-rock stars who fought their stardom while courting it, becoming an unprecedented multi-platinum sensation. The music world has not been the same since.
This version of “Scoff” is a previously unreleased version from a 1990 live show at Portland’s Pine Street Theatre, and appears on the new “Deluxe Edition” re-release of Nirvana’s debut album, Bleach. The Deluxe Edition includes a previously unreleased live recording of the complete Portland show, which took place on February 9th. The live recording features performances of “Love Buzz,” “About a Girl,” and a cover of The Vaselines’ song “Molly’s Lips,” and has been re-mixed from the original tapes by Jack Endino.
