Arrested Development

Great news for fans of “Arrested Development”: According to Deadline, Mitch Hurwitz filmed so much that Netflix has agreed to expand the episode order from the original 10 to an eventual 12 to 15 episodes.

“We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix,” a Netflix spokeswoman told Deadline. “At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do.”

Production is currently on pause as Hurwitz reviews the footage and figures out ways to best incorporate the new story lines, but it is expected to resume next month. The fourth season of “Arrested Development” will air on Netflix in early 2013.
