According to The Wrap, a sequel to Mrs Doubtfire is in the works. The studio Fox 2000 is developing the project, which will be written by Elf writer David Berenbaum. Robin Williams, who starred in the original 1993 film as Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire, will reprise his roles.

Chris Columbus, best known for his work on Harry Potter, will return to direct. In the first film, Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan costarred, along with Mara Wilson, Lisa Jakub, and Matthew Lawrence — however, no information is yet known about any other cast members for the sequel.
