In 2014, it was announced that a new show called “The Minority Report” hosted by Larry Wilmore would be replacing “The Colbert Report,” as Stephen Colbert would be replacing David Letterman as host of “The Late Show.” Despite an eventual name change (Fox requested that Comedy Central change the name due to a coming show of the same name based on the 2002 film), Wilmore’s “The Nightly Show” finally debuted on January 19, 2015.
