KADDISFLY – The Four Seasons EP

reviewed by Garrett Lyons | Thursday, June 21st, 2007

kaddisfly_fourseasonsIt’s a rare EP that makes me want to give myself alcohol poisoning on a Monday night. Kaddisfly has somehow pulled that off with the tedious The Four Seasons EP. The album faces the exact same problem that so many modern bands have faced: respectable, catchy music that is thrown away with the same whiny emo vocals that plague the airwaves. Shades of Panic! At The Disco, modern AFI, Senses Fail, and Hawthorne Heights seep out of every sonic pore of this album. I found myself wanting this EP to end about 15 minutes before it did. There are no bad songs here, but there are no highlights either. The opening track, “B-Side,” is the best quality song on the EP, but even that is nothing more than whiny emo you’ve heard 4,000 times before. I’m not sure who’d be interested in this EP. Anyone who likes this genre has heard it before and anyone who doesn’t like this genre doesn’t want to hear it at all.
