Ten years after his death in August 2003, Johnny Cash will be immortalized by the US Postal Service, as a limited-edition stamp dedicated to the music legend will go on sale Wednesday. The stamp features a promotional picture of Cash taken around the 1963 release of Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash.
Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, said the stamp “just truly embodies my father’s spirit.” To celebrate, the younger Cash and several friends will host a free public concert at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville this week starring Randy Travis, Marty Stuart, Larry Gatlin, and The Oak Ridge Boys. (via HuffPo)
