LA Curbed has taken John Lydon of the world’s first boy band to task for selling his “un-punk” home in Malibu for nearly $2 million:

“Ranch house decorated by Phoebe from Friends” is not an acceptable living arrangement for an aging punk rocker, to our minds. But here’s John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, lead singer of the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd, and a loud and frequent critic of the British aristocracy, showing he’s just another rich American with mediocre tastes. He and his wife, German heiress Nora Forster, are selling their long-time Malibu house for $1.995 million, which is cheap for beachside Malibu, but very expensive for people who are not married to heiresses.

Sure, the home is tacky and seems like a magnet for assholes, but that seems to fit this guy perfectly — not so sure what the hubbub is about. I just wonder if the next owners will be able to get that “Rotten” old man smell out.
