According to The New York Times, Jimmy Fallon will replace Jay Leno as host of “The Tonight Show” by late 2014. NBC also plans to move the show back to New York City — in May 1972 the show moved to Burbank, California into Studio One of NBC Studios West Coast, and has been filmed at Stage 1 of the Universal Studios Hollywood back lot since 2009.

The New York Times notes that NBC has yet to complete a deal and “some details remain to be worked out.” However, the network has “made a commitment” to Fallon. (via CoS)
