Jack Longstreet: Last of the Desert Frontiersmen by Sally ZanjaniSwallow Press, 170 pages, paperback, OOP

This is an interesting book about a fascinating character. I’ve wanted to learn more about Jack Longstreet since I read of the saloon he operated in St. Thomas, Nevada; I was further intrigued when I stumbled across his stone cabin built into a small hillside in Ash Meadows.

Sally Zanjani does a wonderful job bringing Longstreet to life via thorough research, and I can only imagine stringing together the life of such a private, mysterious person was not easy. Recommended to anyone interested in the history of Nevada and the West.
