Iron & Wine and the Low Anthem will be teaming up to release a super-limited edition split 12″ vinyl on May 17th.

Featuring live performances from their recent Daytrotter sessions, only 1,000 copies will be available exclusively through independent record stores, with “a few” copies also available through the artists’ websites and at Daytrotter.

Ben Miller of The Low Anthem told Spinner that Iron & Wine’s “first couple records were huge for me when I was in college and beginning to write songs for the first time. I couldn’t believe how quiet and inviting they were. Beautiful and totally uncynical.” Regarding his current tour with Sam Beam and co., Miller states, “And now, to be on tour with [them] and see this funky 11-piece band kill it every night…it’s a great tour.”
