INTO ETERNITY – The Scattering of Ashes

into_eternity-scatteringofashesThis band takes off just where they left off with Buried In Oblivion, but turn it up just one notch higher. These guys can almost be summed up in one word: musicians. Anyone who is a fan of technical playing will no doubt be intrigued by this Canadian quartet. These guys shred guitar solos, combine multiple layers of vocal harmonies with screams and death growls, tons of tempo changes, and compared to the previous albums, the drums are evidently much more intense, which is a big plus with me. They introduce a more high-pitched vocal sound in some of the first few tracks on the album as well, which I’m not crazy about, but it can easily be overlooked as it is not prevalent throughout. “A Past Beyond Memory” incorporates all their elements well, a standout track. The lyrical subject matter, as could probably be figured out by the album and song titles, remains the same from past albums, but this is by far their heaviest offering to date. Any fan of this band will certainly not be disappointed. Go buy it now.
