HOODS – Ghetto Blaster

hoods_ghettoblaster_450x450Ghetto Blaster comes on the heels of the seminal The King is Dead album. Tough act to follow. I want to support this band and every effort they make, but this disc just doesn’t show their true potential. It’s almost like a b-side album or something, or a recording of the Hoods jamming out tunes they like to practice on. If I take away the comparison to TKID then it’s a good disc, but I wouldn’t listen to it more than a couple of spins. I like how it crosses all of the genres and all aspects of hardcore, and it’s a fun disc overall. I just couldn’t get it out of my head that it doesn’t represent their true power as a band, is all.
