Nerf Herder songs act as the bookends for this compilation. The band’s selected certainly fit together: Fabulous Disaster, The Flipsides, Big in Japan, Teen Idols, J Church, Diesel Boy, Dance Hall Crashers — and there are more, of course. It’s a decent sampler, but only two bands are listed as having albums out on Honest Don’s. Squirtgun is one of them, and their song “No Ohio” isn’t half-bad, but the lead singer sounds like he might be trying too hard to get that pop-punk sound. Limp is the other Honest Don’s band, and their track, “Oh No,” is an emo experience, and follows all the rules of that genre; whether that is good or bad is up to you.
