Apparently, last night was not a good night for emotionally fragile performers. On the same night comedian Dave Chappelle walked offstage during a performance in Hartford, Connecticut, musician Fiona Apple cursed out the crowd at a Tokyo fashion party thrown by Louis Vuitton before leaving the stage in frustration.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Apple climbed on top of a piano to insist that the crowd quiet down. She also allegedly rang a small metal bell and asked for a period of silence, unsuccessfully. Then she told the crowd to “Shut the fuck up.”

“Apple instructed the audience to ‘shut the f–k up’ and uttered other expletives, both audibly and under her breath, calling the event’s attendees ‘rude.’ She continued with her set before shouting, ‘Predictable! Predictable fashion, what the f–k?’ as she stormed off the stage. The show was punctuated with other bizarre moments, such as when she hit her head with her microphone, did a back bend over her piano bench and stared intensely at her guitarist as if in a love-struck trance.”
