Amanda Palmer (of Dresden Dolls) and Jason Webley of Evelyn Evelyn showcase their varying musical influences as the songs on their new self-titled record flow seamlessly through many musical genres, styles, and eras. From the vaudevillian tracks “Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn?” and the quirky “Elephant Elephant,” to the menacing country-tinged love ballad “You Only Want Me ‘Cause You Want My Sister” and the ukulele rendition of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” the record could be at home in a lost Tim Burton movie or a warped sequel to the Rock Horror Picture Show. Evelyn Evelyn are about to embark on their first tour, hitting the road in Canada and the US later this spring.
