As posted by the Hollywood Reporter, the Eminem’s company Eight Mile Style has filed a lawsuit claiming a Facebook ad wrongfully used music “substantially similar” to the track “Under the Influence,” off of 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP. According to the lawsuit, which specifically cites reports of Zuckberg’s Slim Shady-referencing personal childhood web page, the ad agency W+K used the music “in an effort to curry favor with Facebook by catering to Zuckerberg’s personal likes and interests.” Shady alleges that W+K then changed track, demonstrating knowledge of their guilt.
