El-P — acclaimed rapper/producer and founder of Definitive Jux — is the first artist to release a single through Legitmix sampling a platinum selling artist (Rush). While in the studio completing his upcoming Fat Possum album, Cancer for Cure, El-P switched gears to make a song using a sample of Rush’s “Tom Sawyer.” El-P fused “Tom Sawyer” with his latest single, “Drones of BKLYN” to create “Rush Over BKLYN.”

With Legitmix, El-P was able to legally use the Rush sample, and can sell his creative work — and generate new sales for Rush.

All proceeds from the sale of “Rush Over Bklyn” will be given to a fund established for the DJ/producer Brad Forste, aka Mr. Dibbs, who is battling liver disease. Click here to purchase the track, or click here to donate money to Mr. Dibbs.
