Recoiled

Three years after the death of founding member Peter Christopherson — and nearly 10 years after the passing of his partner John Balance — unreleased songs by British avant-garde band continue to be released. UK label Cold Spring has announced the first official pressing of Coil’s previously unreleased Nine Inch Nails remixes, which first appeared on a 2013 bootleg called Uncoiled.

Four of the extended edits from that digital release will be remastered and reissued on vinyl and CD under the title Recoiled, including a version of Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer,” which was used for the opening credits of David Fincher’s 1995 film Se7en. A bonus cut from the same Coil sessions provides the fifth track on the EP. It will be released January 23, 2014. (via Fact)

Nine Inch Nails’ album Hesitation Marks appeared in Verbicide’s Top 50 Albums of 2013 list.
