Children of Bodom

Children of Bodom have released a surprisingly fitting cover of “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” a song originally performed by Dropkick Murphys and based on the lyrics of Woody Guthrie.

The cover will appear on the band’s upcoming compilation album Holiday at Lake Bodom (15 Years of Wasted Youth) on Spinefarm Records. The Dropkick Murphys’ version of “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” appeared on their 2005 album The Warrior’s Code, and on the soundtrack for the 2006 Martin Scorsese film, The Departed.

In the past, Children of Bodom have covered the Ramones’ “Somebody Put Something in My Drink,” Andrew WK’s “She Is Beautiful,” Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell,” and “Oops!… I Did It Again” by Britney Spears
