Playing off the idea that many grindcore singers sound like they’re barking and growling, a band known as “Caninus” (which included members of Most Precious Blood, Justin Brannan and Rachel Rosen) featured actual dogs barking and growling. Two pit bulls, in fact, named Budgie and Basil. The band was formed a number of years ago, and sadly ended in 2011 when Basil died of a brain tumor. However, if you’re just finding out about this very cool, short-lived band (as I am), below you can listen to and try to sing along with the song “Brindle Brickheads.”
