Last year’s On the Road film adaptation may have garnered more attention, but a new independent film based on Jack Kerouac‘s autobiographical novel Big Sur, which details a trip he took to Lawrence Ferlinghetti‘s remote California cabin while dealing with the alcoholism and the pressures brought on by his literary success, is now playing at The San Francisco International Film Festival.
