The Best Small and Large Group categories at Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender, benefiting the museum of the same name, were full of surprises and weirdness. The winners of Best Large Group, Jenny Rocha & Her Painted Ladies, did a bizzare plastic-surgery themed act that involved dancing around with saggy, weighted breasts. They had an exciting, surprising reveal followed by sharp, fierce dance moves that drove the crowd nuts.

Top honors for Best Small Group — as well as Most Comedic — went to The Original Twins, who did a silly sibling-rivalry themed act. The duo, twin brothers in real-life, completely blew the crowd away with their sparkling on-stage charisma and graceful, athletic, perfectly-synchronized choreography. The amazing pair was part of the trio Land of the Sweets that took home Best Group last year.

The Ruby Revue, 2014 winners of Best Troupe (a category now titled Best Large Group) performed their step down number during the show, an over-the-top crimson extravaganza that was decadent and glorious. Missy Lisa and Ginger Valentine’s chair dance was sizzling, their kickline was perfection, and the rest of the numbers were similarly flawless. Wish I was in the Dallas area so I could see more of that stellar troupe!
