Beck to Release Philip Glass Remix Album

Beck and producer Hector Castillo are working on a remix album for New York minimalist composer Philip Glass, 74. According to P4k and Broadway World, the album will also include contributions from Memory Tapes, Amon Tobin, Gold Panda, and Cornelius, and ex-Battles frontman Tyondai Braxton. The release is scheduled for an unspecified date in 2012.

Glass will also celebrate his approaching 75th birthday (January 31st)  with performances and events across the globe. Beginning with the inaugural Days and Nights Festival in Carmel Valley, CA (August 19th through September 4the), the event will feature the first performance of a Glass piece by the New York Philharmonic (Koyaanisqatsi score performed live alongside screenings of the film on November 2nd and 3rd).
