Al Pacino

It’s not a done deal — and let’s hope it stays that way — but apparently, Al Pacino is lined up to play Joe Paterno in what is possibly the stupidest fucking movie idea of all time.

The movie will largely be based on Joe Posnanski’s biography Paterno, which is now atop The New York Times Bestseller List in its second week. Pacino’s manager, Rick Nicita, will produce. Posnanski, an award-winning sportswriter who has written for Sports Illustrated, spent a year working on the book when the scandal broke. The book covers Paterno’s life before Penn State, his family life, and the grip he held over Penn State football and politics until his downfall and eventual death. (via Deadspin, Deadline)
