
Elmore Leonard, the prolific crime novelist whose books included Get Shorty, Freaky Deaky, and Glitz, died on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his home in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. He was 87. Leonard was famous for establishing the crime genre, and also wrote Westerns earlier in his career. He produced more than 40 books in his lifetime.
