Black Flag to appear at Hevy Fest 2013

It has been announced that the 1979 lineup of Black Flag will reunite in 2013. The band will play at Hevy Fest in Kent, UK, during the weekend of August 2-4, and will be fronted by Ron Reyes (aka “Chavo Pederast”).

According to CoS, Reyes will be joined by band leader and guitarist Greg Ginn, bassist Chuck Dukowski, and drummer Roberto “Robo” Valverde. [CORRECTION: Dukowski will, in fact, not be a part of this lineup. He will, however, be touring with Flag this summer – see below!]

The performance will be the band’s first UK date in more than 30 years, and their only UK performance of 2013. According to Classic Rock, the band will also “play a series of shows,” though the details are not specified.

Reyes joined Black Flag in 1979, replacing original vocalist Keith Morris, who started Circle Jerks, and famously left the band mid-gig on May 23, 1980. However, he rejoined the band later solely to record the Jealous Again EP, which you can listen to in full below.

Below the streaming EP is a flyer for Hevy Fest that you can download and share.

For those who cannot make it to the UK to see Black Flag, you may be able to catch the band in one of its many various incarnations this spring. Billing themselves as “Flag,” Morris, Dukowski, and Black Flag’s longest-tenured drummer Bill Stevenson will be joined by Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton to perform at the 2013 Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada during the weekend of May 25 – 27.
